Gentlemen and Gentlewomen abide by rules

Brought to you for nine years by the tireless Mr Rigsy
  1. No metal footwear. This is damaging to pitches and also causes injuries to players. Any player wearing metal studs or blades will be refused the right to play.
  2. Smoking on or around the pitch is strictly prohibited, players are reminded that this is against the law, and any individual breaking this rule will be subject to a maximum fine of £2500.
  3. The referee's decision is final.
  4. No slide tackles. This includes the goalkeepers. A “sin bin” will be issued for any player committing two slide tackles where he doesn’t hit the other player. Players who slide tackle and touch the other player will be sin binned automatically. A direct free kick will be given to the opposition when this offence is committed against them.
  5. Sin bins will be around 2-4 minutes or the rest of the match for extreme unsporting behaviour or any violent conduct.
  6. Conduct which the referee views as unsportsmanlike will result in the player being "sin binned" and / or a direct free kick being given to the opposition.
  7. All free kicks are direct (apart from those awarded due to picked up pass back.)
  8. Opponents must give the players taking a free kick, corner or side ball 4 yards.
  9. When the ball passes the sidelines of the pitch this does not have to be thrown into play, it may be kicked. You may also score directly from a kick-in so keepers stay alert!
  10. Substitutions are rolling (make as many as you wish) but must take place behind your own goal line!
  11. Goalkeeper is allowed outside of his semi circle, but cannot handle the ball outside the semi circle.
  12. You can score from anywhere on the pitch.
  13. No offside.
  14. A back pass to the goalkeeper may not be picked up. If this happens, indirect free kick awarded to other team, from where the back pass was played.
  15. No injury time in any matches - deliberate time wasters will be sin binned and banned for one match and their team will play with five players!

During the group stages

  1. We've a lot of matches to get through so please keep this in mind - have your team ready to go on the sidelines at least five minutes before your next game.
  2. If we're running behind with the group matches, the last few games will have to be shortened.
  3. There are six groups of four teams. Each group shall be played round-robin - i.e every team is guaranteed three games.
  4. Three points for a win, one point for a draw.
  5. The winner and runner-up will proceed to the knock out stages.

Please Note

The following will decide who finishes higher (in order of priority):

  1. The team with the most points.
  2. the winner of the corresponding fixture between two teams with the same point score.
  3. goal difference.
  4. goals scored.

If the two teams are still tied, SUDDEN DEATH penalty shootout will take place to separate the teams.

In knock out games, if a match is drawn in normal time, penalties x3 then sudden death penalties will decide the match result.
